MY SUMMER BOOK (2014)
This summer I read The Fall Of The House Of Usher and other stories, of Edgar Allan Poe.
The book is about The Fall of the House of Usher, The Maelström, The barrel of Amontillado, The Murders in the Rue Morgue and The Stolen Letter.
I chose this book from the school library befire the holydays. I like Edgar Allan Poe's books because I like scary stories.
THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER
It's about a strange and old house and her owner, who writes a letter to an old friend and ask him for help. But when the friend arrived to the house, he discover that the house, as his friend and her sister Madeline are really strange.
THE MAELSTRÖM
It's about an old man who tells his friend how he and his brothers were fishing one beautiful day when a terrible strom surprised them and they could not do anything.
THE BARREL OF AMONTILLADO
It's about one man who meet her friend in secret and invite him to his winery to taste his wines. But Montresor, his friend, don't know that in really, he wants revenge on him because Montresor always trated badly him.
THE MURDERS OF THE RUE MORGUE AND THE STOLEN LETTER
They're about a famous detective of Edgar Allan Poe, C.Auguste Dupin. He is very clever and he always help the police to resolve the most strange cases.
EDGAR ALLAN POE
He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1.809, and died in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1.849, with 40 years old. His parents were traveling actors, and they died before Poe was two years old. John Allan, a Virginia businessman, and his wife cared him.
Poe wrote his first poem's book, Tamerlane and other poems, in 1.827.
He started working in a newspaper to earn a little money. Slowly, he become famous by his writin in the newspaper, and then he decided to became a writer when he has enough money. He got a lot os fane and became one of the best writer s of scary stories.
